About Eric Pinnell

I moved to Oregon 5 & 1/2 years ago with my wife and daughter. I am a family man and a business owner. I grew up number two of five kids with two parents who worked two jobs. While I was young my family relied on government assistance to make it.
I took advantage of school but not to the full power of primary education. I had a 3.8 GPA and took a few classes I did not need to that hurt the average and could have taken harder classes to help with college. College had to come out on my own pocket. I had no money from my parents. By this time they made too much to qualify for government help, but not enough to help me. After a year of expenses, I decided college was not for me, and off to the working world I went.

“I believe the life long politicians are the reason our government is in the shambles they are today. They have lost sight of what the government is supposed to be doing and are caught up in the quid pro quo game.”
- Eric Pinnell, Libertarian Candidate for Oregon State Senate District 4

I started working at a young age. The funny thing is, besides when I was a paperboy, I never earned minimum wage, I always made more than it. I worked a few different jobs and attended Community College taking classes to help me learn skills not a degree. I did not have the extra funds to take the "elective" classes required for a degree, but I have taken over 150 credit hours of college classes in varying areas of study.
I bought the name of a struggling business that was supposed to be in zero debt and have a ton of inventory. This turned out to not be true and the inventory was almost non existing. In five years, I grew that business to two locations and started two other businesses.
now employ 8 people and am working on the need for more.
As a Libertarian I support small government with the least involvement in all aspects of citizens lives. I believe there are ways our government can improve to help the citizens more. I believe we need more accountability from the top down to create a sustainable future for our children. I believe I can be part of the solution to making Oregon a better place to live.
